We respect all types of medical modalities and are willing to help our patients utilize those modalities when best. Our specialty and primary methods are acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, and moxabustion.

Practioners

After receiving a BS from UCSD, Dr. Greg Sperber earned a master of traditional Oriental medicine in 1997 and a doctorate of acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 2006 from PCOM, San Diego. He worked as a consultant to several businesses while getting his MBA at National University. He attended medical school at Flinders University of South Australia earning a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (BMBS, the British equivalent to an MD) in 2002. In addition, while attending medical school, he established a practice and taught TCM, becoming the chair of traditional Chinese medicine at the Adelaide Training College of Complementary Medicine. Currently he is an instructor and clinical supervisor at Pacific College. He is president of the California State Oriental Medical Association and has had his first book published, Integrated Pharmacology, Combining Modern Pharmacology with Chinese Medicine.

Margi Duran graduated from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in 2000. She is currently enrolled as a Doctoral Fellow at PCOM. She spent six years making house-calls. Much of her experience is working with people with both acquired and auto-immune disorders. Margi also works for PCOM as a clinic supervisor, both on campus and at an off-site externship at San Diego Hospice supervising clinical assistants and interns. She has also taught several courses at the college since graduation.

Peter Meaden graduated from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine with a Master of Science of Traditional Oriental Medicine (MSTOM). Peter has special interest in Pediatrics, and female reproductive health. He currently assist in teaching at the Pacific College on a regular basis. He also holds an undergraduate degree in biology (minor in chemistry) from Fort Lewis College in Colorado.

Lynn Buczek is licensed by the California Acupuncture Board and earned her Master’s of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, California. Ms. Buczek holds a Bachelor’s of Art degree from the State University of New York at Brockport. Lynn’s Chinese medical training included treating patients at Rady Children’s Hospital, San Diego Hospice, and UCSD’s Free Senior’s Clinic. Lynn has seven years of experience working closely with physicians, nurses and patients as a medical assistant in a women’s health clinic. While Lynn treats a wide variety of complaints, from pain to internal disorders, she has special interest in women’s issues including fertility enhancement, menopause, and PMS. She also holds particular interest in geriatric health, painful muscular-skeletal conditions, and digestive disorders. Because no two cases are alike, Lynn places the utmost importance on tailoring each treatment to the individual.

Dena Myers received a BS in Information Systems at SDSU in 1990. She worked as a computer programmer for 11 years. Dena began studying the Iyengar method of yoga in 1990 and in 2000, she completed a 2-year intensive teacher-training course and soon after became certified as an Iyengar Yoga instructor. Dena has taught at various yoga studios throughout San Diego as well as at large companies. At New Life Health Partners, she teaches group classes, private sessions, and workshops. Dena teaches all levels of students with various needs. In group classes, the focus will vary depending on the needs of the class. In private sessions, the focus will be on the individual. Dena’s care and focus on each student makes everyone benefit and grow within their own potential.

Christina Anthony attended UCLA on a Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps scholarship.  There she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Anthropology in 2002.  She then served as a Surface Warfare Officer in the United States Navy.  Christina received her massage certification from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine where she is currently enrolled in the Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine program; studying to become an acupuncturist.  Her styles include circulatory, deep tissue, acupressure, tui na (Chinese physiotherapy) and Seitai shiatsu (Japanese lymphatic circulation) massage.

Jen Toussant is a licensed and certified Holistic Health Practitioner whose purpose is to provide the best in intention-filled, customized massage and bodywork.  Prior to entering the holistic health field, she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from Indiana University with concentrations in biology, psychology, education, and fine art.  After moving to California, she studied for over 1000 hours at Mueller College of Holistic Studies to obtain her HHP certification.  Jen remains involved with the school through tutoring and instructing.  Her specialties include Tui Na (therapeutic Chinese massage), traditional Swedish massage, Reiki (energy work), and integrated massage that utilizes effective techniques from various modalities.  Jen's goal in any session is to tap into each client's unique needs and help them connect their bodies with the balance and well-being they deserve!
